Maintaining the integrity of Tempe Park and raising awareness about the issues facing our environment are key missions of the Innings Festival Experience. Pledge to do your part to minimize waste, lower your carbon footprint and support sustainable businesses at the festival.

In 2019 at #InningsFest:

  • 16,194 reusable bottles were filled at our Hydration Stations
  • 19.87 tons of recycling was diverted from the landfill
  • 138 bikes were used by the valet services provided by Tempe Bicycle Action Group across the two-day festival

Why it matters: Transportation to and from the festival is the main source of carbon emissions for the event.

What you can do: Take the low-emission route to and from the festival. Carpool, bike, walk, or take public transportation. Tempe Bicycle Action Group will be hosting a complimentary bike valet at Bike Parking so you can get to Innings even quicker! Remember to roll with your lock to keep your bike secure while you’re at the show.

Why it matters: Most plastic used in the world today is for single-use items. Nearly 1 million plastic beverage bottles are sold every minute. Worldwide, half a trillion disposable cups are manufactured, and over 500 billion plastic bottles are used every year.

What you can do: Innings provides free, cool, filtered water at PATHWATER Hydration Stations throughout the park to help you go refillable! 16,194 plastic bottles were diverted through our Water Refill Stations at Innings 2019. BYOBottle and go Plastic Free! #BYOBottle

Why it matters: Every year, 9 Million tons of plastic waste ends up in the ocean, a trillion plastic bags are used worldwide, and 500 million plastic straws are used a day.

What you can do: Use provided trash and recycling bins and get rewarded for going above and beyond through the festival’s Rock & Recycle Program, where you can earn a limited-edition and sustainably made festival T-shirt and a chance to win a par of tickets to Innings Fest 2021!

Why It Matters: The world uses 500 billion single-use plastic cups every year. Innings Festival is committed to eliminating single-use plastics at our festival.

What You Can Do: We are providing complimentary reusable cups versus single use. Once you are finished with your drink, drop the cups at a collection station or bar to be washed and reused at one of our other events throughout the year!

Why it matters: Fair trade, local, organic, and vegetable-focused items are the least environmentally damaging.

What you can do: Seek out plant based, organic, locally sourced meal options at the festival from our list of vendors at the fest.

Why it matters: The issues that are facing out environment won’t stop when the music ends.

What you can do: Look for greening opportunities within the festival like Rock & Recycle! Also, get involved in your community outside of the fest to help promote positive change.
